The OTHM Level 3 Diploma in Business Studies is a 60-credit university foundation-level qualification, equivalent to one A Level. It introduces students to essential business concepts and management practices needed for entry-level roles or further academic progression.

Progression

How It Works

How it works

Students on our Business Studies course complete a flexible, online Level 3 OTHM diploma (60 credits) designed to develop core business knowledge and practical skills. Each module includes 40 hours of guided learning, plus 30–50 hours of optional activities, such as recommended readings, exercises, digital resources, and self-assessment tasks.

To finish the course, you’ll complete six online assignments, each 2,000–3,000 words in length. Once you have successfully passed all assignments, you’ll receive your OTHM Level 3 Diploma in Business Studies, which can be used to progress to a bachelor’s degree at a range of UK universities.

Throughout your studies, you will have access to 1-to-1 tutor support, webinars, social learning forums, and a wide selection of additional study materials designed to support your learning and success.

Course Modules

The Level 3 Diploma in Business Studies consists of 6 modules, each with a written assignment of approximately 2,000–3,000 words. Students receive full support through the learning platform’s Tutor section.

Introduction to Research and Academic Skills – Develop essential academic skills such as researching, referencing, critical thinking, and assignment writing.
Using IT for Business – Gain practical IT skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, and databases.
Introduction to Economics and Accounting – Understand basic economic principles and financial management, including budgeting and profit and loss.
Introduction to the Business Environment – Explore business types, structures, stakeholders, and external factors like laws and ethics.
Introduction to Marketing – Learn marketing fundamentals, including customer needs, market research, branding, and promotions.
Introduction to Customer Service – Develop skills for excellent customer service, handling complaints, and improving customer satisfaction.

Entry Requirements

Am I eligible for this programme?

You can enrol in the Level 3 Accounting course if you are at least 16 years old and have a full secondary education.
If you don’t meet these requirements, you may still qualify through relevant work experience.
